Frequently Asked Questions
While Knight Creek Farm does not receive volumes of questions, the questions listed below are among the most popular. If your question is not listed here, please send an and I will be happy to answer your question.
What is your LCFG (Live colored foal guarantee)?
Why won't you accept a HYPP H/H or N/H mare in for breeding?
Do you offer artificial insemination?
What is your LCFG (Live colored foal guarantee)?
Quagga's LCFG is a guarantee that your foal will be born alive, stand and nurse and have a visible coat pattern which can be
easily seen. To view the visible coat patterns identified by
the Appaloosa Horse Club click
here.
In a nutshell, if your mare produces a solid foal, as defined by the
Appaloosa Horse Club, you may have the same mare rebred to Quagga at no
charge within one year of the birth.
Why won't you accept a HYPP H/H or N/H mare in
for breeding?
After researching HYPP, it was decided to intentionally not encourage breeding with carrier horses. The Quagga Kids deserve a long,
happy life. HYPP could affect this.
Do you offer discounts?
Discounts depend. If it is for breeding, the multiple mare discounts can always be discussed.
The multiple mares would need to bred all in the same breeding season though.
Discounts on sales can also be discussed, however, if I feel the price
truly is reasonable, it will take some effort.
Do you offer artificial insemination?
At this time, Knight Creek Farm does not offer artificial insemination. However, upon request, Quagga can be sent out for collection and testing for serious parties interested in breeding to him.
